EAST AFRICA ADR BENCHMARKING MISSION — KAMPALA LEG Karl Mediation and Arbitration Center | 12–15 August 2026 | Kampala, Uganda Karl Mediation and Arbitration Center (KMAC) heads to Kampala this week as part of its landmark East Africa ADR Benchmarking Mission — a structured institutional learning exercise designed to deepen regional cooperation and position KMAC at the heart of East Africa's dispute resolution ecosystem. The Kampala leg runs from 12th to 15th August 2026 and brings together a delegation of twenty senior ADR practitioners — advocates, court-annexed mediators, and arbitrators — for three high-level engagements. Judiciary of Uganda Panel The delegation will sit with the Judiciary of Uganda for a peer-to-peer institutional exchange on court-annexed mediation frameworks, cross-border mediator accreditation, and the lessons Uganda's judiciary-led ADR implementation holds for the region. The session will explore concrete pathways for continued professional dialogue and cooperation between Kenyan and Ugandan ADR practitioners and courts. Praxis Conflict Center KMAC will engage with the team at Praxis Conflict Center — one of Uganda's respected ADR institutions — on what it takes to build and sustain a successful conflict resolution centre, how to position for international cases and clients, and the institutional lessons that translate across the East African context. Kenya High Commission, Kampala The delegation will pay a courtesy call on the Kenya High Commission in Kampala, introducing KMAC's work, exploring how ADR can serve Kenyans living and doing business in Uganda, and discussing avenues for Embassy-ADR collaboration in support of the Kenyan community. The Kampala mission follows KMAC's successful Kigali leg in June 2026, during which the delegation engaged the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Kigali International Arbitration Center, and the Kenya High Commission — securing a referral partnership and establishing a pathway for delegates to join the KIAC panel as arbitrators and mediators. East Africa's ADR future is being built one institutional relationship at a time. KMAC is in the room. Follow our journey at www.karlmedarbcenter.com
